Paris devMEET Weekend!

I wish I could have kept track of everyone who showed up, because there were so many people. SO MANY PEOPLE. As well as the aforementioned, and not counting staff, I also saw leomon32, ArikaRinkishika, Drunken-Splice, mossthewolf, Quinn-G, Meteorskies, BaKaShou, BreeBirdtheInsane, and a ton of other people whose usernames I didn't write down and should have. There was a guy named Ricardo who hung about and was generally pleasant, and there was a writer (who I just remembered was Aegis-L) who was very nice, and I wish I'd talked with him longer than I did, but I wandered off to greet people and then couldn't find him when I came back!

So much noise and chatter and laughter and photos. All of the photos. I don't know how I ended up in so many photos, really. I think it's because I had the silliest grin in the room, maybe. But yes, there are lots of photos and I didn't take any because I am not a taking photo sort of person. You can see a decent portion of the people who attended in this photo down here, though!

So yes, the meet was a great success, and I didn't leave the Mecano Bar until after 10, when the adventures with the hotel kicked in, but that's another story for another day. Anyway, afterward we went to our hotel out by the Gare de Lyon (and by we I mean me, leomon32, danlev, mattdanna, Ayame-Kenoshi, haldron, and AnaNaszynska), and then the others went to the Eiffel Tower while Ronan and I went to bed. XD It was a great day, but I woke up at 4 that day, so it was a loooooong day by the time we got to the hotel. The next day, Ronan and I went to the zoo in the Jardin des Plantes, and we saw lots of animals that either ignored us or stared at us expecting things. But we did go to the building with the monkeys and we saw this absolutely adorable capuchin:

This little guy was great, because he would mimic what we did, and then he came down and was closer...but then he started trying to tell us he was cold, and I felt awful for leaving. :T The capuchin area had a big vent at the top where air and rain could easily get inside, so I don't know how things went from there, but I do think there were places for the capuchin to stay dry. I don't know that there was anywhere for them to keep warm, though... :<

We also saw a snow leopard, and a bunch of other animals, but before we left, Ronan had to see the red pandas, so we went and saw the red pandas. XDD

And then after that, Ronan and I went to brunch before he went back home, and then I took the metro back to Gare de Lyon to catch up with the rest of our group, and now we're back where we've been for the retreat. I'm here until Saturday, and then I'll be back in sunny California again. Anyway, hope you're all well!
